Rahman Ali Bugg is an Executive Producer, Showrunner, and Director with more than 30 years of experience in unscripted television, documentary film, live broadcast, and digital content. Founder of PopStar Media and an EP/Director for Red Summer TV, an independent production company based in Brooklyn, NY.

His career has been defined by a commitment to cultural specificity and social impact — from the criminal justice reform lens of Exposing Parchman and Free Meek, to the recovery of Black American history in Hidden Highways, to four editions of the Essence Festival. He has produced for 137 episodes of Live PD, one of cable's highest-rated live series, and helped bring Welcome to Rap City to a new generation through BET and Mass Appeal.

Rahman has worked across BET, MTV, VH1, A&E, Amazon, Roc Nation, MSG, and the NBA, managing budgets from $75K to $4M and building crews that reflect the audiences they serve. He also offers paid consultation sessions for creators, producers, and media professionals seeking to level up their craft, their career, or their content strategy.

He is a proud product of Paterson, NJ — one of twelve children — and holds a B.A. from Syracuse University's S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications. He is represented by Rabih Gholam at Innovative Artists LA.
